Our Place Bundanoon

Our Place Bundanoon is a Subcommittee of the Bundanoon Committee Association.

 It began as the Planning and Development Subcommittee and with the place planning exercise announced by Wingecarribee Shire Council the Subcommittee included Place Planning in the portfolio.

Place Plan

Place Planning is a community inclusive model being adopted by many Councils to refresh their built and natural planning. Community members are involved in determining short and long term priorities for the area they live in. It aslo includes people who work in and those who visit the area.

As a starting point we are focussing on five areas

Main Street shops
Picnic Park – the area on Railway Avenue across from the shops (Picnic Park is also a BCA subcommittee)
Railway precinct (station and old goods shed)
Oval precinct
Tourism – as an abstract place/destination

We will be holding community meetings to get ideas on the places. What is good, what could be improved.

This will feed into the Place Plan when Council began that process.

Development

Our Place Bundanoon, and the Bundanoon Community Association, supports development that is sensitive to the character of Bundanoon. Within the town, there are a number of current land parcels that can be subdivided within the existing zoning. We promote development within these areas, supported by the Council’s Bundanoon Development Control Plan that provides housing and retains the feel of a regional village/town.
